The Allman Brothers Band At Fillmore East

Legendary photo by Jim Marshall

Iconic image from arguably the ultimate live album

The photograph is printed from the ORIGINAL negative, using a gelatin procedure and comes with a letter of authenticity from Jim’s exclusive printer.
It was purchased prior to Jim’s untimely passing from Mr. Marshall and it’s unsigned and not stamped.

This now iconic shot of band members Gregg and Duane Allman, Jaimoe, Dickey Betts, Butch Trucks, and Berry Oakley in the throes of laughter, was taken early one cool morning in Macon, GA, 1971. Marshall stenciled the name of the band and album onto one of their flight cases and had the roadies stack them up for the shoot.

At Fillmore East is the first live album by American rock band the Allman Brothers Band. The album was released in July 1971 in the United States by Capricorn Records. the recording took place at the New York City music venue Fillmore East, which was run by concert promoter Bill Graham. It was recorded over the course of three nights in March 1971

The double live album is one of the Allman Brothers Band best selling records and ranks at #49 on Rolling Stone Magazine’s 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
